We saw Eli Manning got very emotional today when cleaning out his locker.

It seems that there was a reason behind that, perhaps Manning knew what was coming.

According to a report, the New York Giants have decided to make a change at the head coach position.

Coughlin lost his final (home) game as Giants head coach on Sunday to the Eagles 35-30 and there was some uncertainty of his future afterwards.

After the news broke, Coughlin issued a statement thanking the owners and admitting that he "stepped down" as head coach.

"I informed (Mara and Tisch) that it is in the best interest of the organization that I step down as head coach," Coughlin said.

It remains unknown what Coughlin, 69, will do in the off season after the resignation as there are many new head coaching opportunities out there.

Coughlin leaves the Giants with two Super Bowl titles and a playoff winning percentage of .632.

The Giants are holding a press conference on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
