ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Tom Coughlin has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles' head-coaching vacancy. Schefter reported this morning the Eagles have focused their "attention squarely" on ex-Giants coach Coughlin.

This is a change of course from this morning when there were reports that Coughlin was going to meet with the Eagles brass again tonight.  NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported this morning that the Eagles will have a "face-to-face meeting" with Tom Coughlin on Thursday.

So what does all this mean for the Eagles?

With Coughlin out of the picture, the Eagles now are expected to pursue Chiefs OC Doug Pederson as their next head coach, per a source.

However, could the Eagles have tried to push Pat Shurmur on Coughlin and that made him pull out of the running?

Stay tuned...The Lurie and Roseman head coaching carousel continues.
