Reports: Sixers add four undrafted free agents

Despite not having a single pick in the 2023 NBA draft, the Sixers made moves after the final selection.

University of Arkansas' Ricky Council IV will come to Philadelphia on a two-way contract, according to Shams Charania.

University of Arizona's Azuolas Tubelis and North Carolina State's Terquavion Smith are also joining the Sixers on two-way deals, according to Kyle Neubeck.

Neubeck also reported that Arizona State's Marcus Bagley signed an Exhibited 10 deal with the Sixers.

Council IV averaged more than 16 points and nearly four rebounds per game with Arkansas in the 2022-23 season. The 21-year-old is 6-foot-6 with positive wingspan.

Tubelis averaged nearly 20 points and more than nine rebounds with Arizona in 2022-23. The 21-year-old Lithuania native is 6-foot-11.

Smith averaged nearly 18 points and four rebounds with NC State this past season. A career 35.2-percent three-point shooter in two collegiate seasons, more than half of Smith's shots came from beyond the arc. The 20-year-old guard is 6-foot-4 with slightly positive wingspan.

Bagley played just two games with Arizona State this past season before being suspended. He subsequently stepped away from the program. The 21-year-old forward is 6-foot-8 with positive wingspan. He is the younger brother of former no. 2 overall pick and now Detroit Pistons big man Marvin Bagley III.

These are four swings on upside for Philadelphia. Ideally, they develop into cost-effective depth. But, there's not really any risk if they don't amount to legitimate NBA assets.

Two-way contracts mandate that a player must spend a portion of their season with the G-League club, but can also spend time with the NBA affiliate. G-League deals can be converted to standard NBA contracts.

Exhibit 10 deals are one-year contracts that pay the league minimum. They usually see the player waived and sent to the G-League affiliate before the start of the season. They can be converted to two-way contracts.

Outside of trading for or purchasing a selection from another team, these deals are all you can really do to extract value from the draft if you don't possess picks.
