Entering Wells Fargo Center with members of the Flyers’ leadership braintrust flanked on either side, rookie Scott Laughton was pumped for his NHL debut. Veterans Scott Hartnell and captain Claude Giroux walked into the locker room excited in their own rights to take on the division rival Pittsburgh Penguins.

For the rookie, it means something more.

Laughton waited at the door with a big grin on his face. Another veteran, Max Talbot, hustled down the hallway to congratulate the 18-year-old on joining the professional hockey fraternity.
