September is for Eagles Football and Phillies Postseason pursuit

We are counting down the days until the Philadelphia Eagles take flight, starting the 2022 NFL season in Detroit when the Birds face-off with the Lions on Sunday September 11th.  The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will be broadcasting Live from Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern in Marmora from 10am to Noon for our Eagles pregame show! 

The Eagles 53-man roster has been evolving this week and General Manager Howie Roseman made some significant moves including trading much-maligned Eagles 2020 draft pick Jalen Reagor to the Minnesota Vikings.  The Eagles also upgraded their secondary by acquiring Safety/Cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the New Orleans Saints for the late-round picks they got in part thanks to trading away another draft bust: JJ Arcega-Whiteside.  Howie Roseman’s critics can't complain about the well-rounded team he has assembled; I like the Eagles to win the NFC East!

The Philadelphia Phillies are on the west coast as they open up a weekend series against the San Francisco Giants.  The Phillies enter play on Friday Night with a half-game lead over the San Diego Padres for the second National League Wildcard spot and three plus games up on the Milwaukee Brewers.  The Phillies are making this September very exciting as we gear up for the 2022 Eagles season while the Phillies pursue their first playoff appearance in a decade and there's a big College Football Weekend that we are excited fro!

On Saturday’s show, Three-time All-Big Ten Linebacker and former NFL LB Brad Quast joins me in the studio.  We will talk with Hall of Fame Head Coach and the winner of three Big Ten Championships with the Wisconsin Badgers Barry Alvarez about his career and what it was like coaching players like Brad Quast. Plus, The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his big picks in College Football this weekend.  We will talk Eagles and Phillies Saturday Morning too!
