For almost 40 years, one of the most anticipated events on the South Jersey calendar is the ShopRite LPGA Tournament. The Final Round of the 2026 ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern saw big crowds turn out to see a historic come-from-behind victory for Celine Boutier.

But what makes the ShopRite LPGA Tournament special is not just because it brings some of the best golfers in the world to South Jersey each year, or the incredible scenic views featuring the Atlantic City skyline on the Seaview Golf Club Bay Course, or the fact that this is one of the longest-running events on the LPGA Tour schedule.

Each year, ShopRite has used the platform afforded by this prestigious LPGA Tour event to raise money for charity, and each year they continue to take the extra steps to take care of the golfers who compete in the tournament.

New Record Donation Thanks To Charity Work at 2026 ShopRite LPGA

This past weekend was already a weekend of "firsts" in Galloway with the largest purse in ShopRite LPGA Tournament history, a record $2 million in prize money was paid out to the women who played in the Final Round. The winner, Celine Boutier, received a check for $300,000.

According to a press release, ShopRite also donated a record $2 million in grants to more than 70 organizations. The Community Luncheon was not the only part of the Tournament weekend where the commitment to give back was on display during the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern:

*12 high school students were award scholarships from ShopRite through First-Tee Program: "a youth development organization that uses golf to teach life skills, confidence and leadership."

*Almost 200 children received free oral health exams, treatment and education during the TeamSmile Dental Clinic

*In partnership with Purina Dog Chow’s Service Dog Salute program, ShopRite donated $2,500 to K9 For Warriors, training service dogs to help veterans living with PTSD.

*The Bike Build featured volunteers assembling 50 bikes that were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City

I spoke with LPGA Golfer Cheyenne Knight during Round Two of the 2026 ShopRite LPGA Tournament, and she spoke about how ShopRite's support for the golfers and active work in the community are some of the reasons why she was excited to be representing Team ShopRite:

"This event is very unique (because) normally (LPGA Golfers) have to pay for our own hotel, or get an Airbnb. So to be put up right across the street from the golf course, it's so convenient, and it's so nice of ShopRite and WakeFern to do that...Just to see everything else that they do with the community, I got to go to TeamSmile which provided free dental care to kids that maybe have never been to a dentist before. So (when I) get to see all the other stuff that goes on throughout the week, it has been really special."

Tournament Director Ryan Devers told 973 ESPN South Jersey that the charity work over the last three decades is what makes this event extra special for local South Jersey residents:

"We call it the short tradition for a reason (because ShopRite, the longest active title sponsor on the LPGA Tour - It's not only the competition on the golf course, but it's also the impact (in) the community. And I think, you know, being from the area, it hits a special place in my heart annually as ShopRite raises substantial charitable dollars to give back to organizations right in our backyard. We're over 45 million (raised) now since 1992, another 2 million donated this year, and that's why we do it."
