Markelle Fultz’s future with in Philadelphia is an uncertain one, but slightly more than half of Sixers fans* would like to see him back as the team’s backup point guard over T.J. McConnell.

Out of the 1,617 people that responded to a poll I posted on Twitter, 51% said they would rather have Fultz over McConnell as the Sixers backup to Ben Simmons at this point in time.

Fultz is not currently participating in games or practices with the Sixers as he is consulting with shoulder specialists. He played just seven total minutes during his last appearance against the Phoenix Suns earlier this month while the second half minutes that would have normally gone to Fultz went to McConnell instead.

On the season, Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game for the Sixers, while McConnell is averaging 4.1 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game. While there is natural competition between the two players as they play the same position, they are both extremely supportive of each other.
