Due to the social unrest in our country, the NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball organizations have postponed their games to support change in America.  Numerous players have voiced their concerns about issues that are important to them in society. As a result the players and teams collectively decided to use their platform to bring awareness to their cause and ultimately, not play the games.  This has been a challenging year dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Basically, professional sports teams are forced to modify their schedules as a result of everything going on this year. While overcoming the COVID-19 by playing the remainder of their seasons in a bubble, Sports teams are facing yet another challenge - dealing with racism.  As a result the NBA and NHL have suspended their playoff games as players protest.  The NHL has just announced its updated playoff schedule:

We are waiting to see how the NBA and MLB will handle making their schedule adjustments moving forward.

This Saturday in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, we will talk about what's next! It's also our last week for our “ Push for Propp” onto the Hockey Hall of Fame! Tomorrow we will talk with the man himself, former Flyers Left-Winger Brian Propp!! Over the last 12 weeks Scotty McKay and I have talked on the show with Brian’s former teammates: Scott Mellenby, Dave Poulin, Ron Hextall, Jeff Chychrun and former head coach of the Flyers, Mike Keenan, to name a few.  They all had one thing in common - the belief that Brian Propp deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

As the summer winds down, our next “Legends of Lifeguard Racing” segment focuses on 2X SJ swim champion of the OCBP, Sid Cassidy.  Sid is a very colorful and passionate competitor and we look forward to hearing from him. All the action starts Saturday at 10am to Noon on 97.3 ESPN!
