This was NOT a pretty effort by the Flyers. They did not deserve to win this game, but sometimes that happens when you have a goaltender. A real goaltender.

So what does that mean exactly?

Carter Hart was elite. I repeat, Carter Hart was elite!

He was sensational in this game and totally stole a win for the Philadelphia Flyers as they beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 to keep the win streak alive at nine games! He made 38 saves and majority of the shots were great scoring opportunities for Buffalo.

The Flyers went into the first intermission tied 0-0 after Hart's spectacular first period and came out in the second scoring the first goal of the night. Claude Giroux netted a backhand shot over Carter Hutton after Jakub Voracek dished a pass cross-crease. Sanhiem recorded the secondary assist.

Prior to the second period ending, a defensive-zone breakdown occurred for the Flyers and Dominik Kahun was left wide open on the back-side, allowing an easy tap in.

Halfway through the third, the Flyers regained the lead after Giroux scored his second of the night from the slot as Jakub Voracek recorded his second assist of the night, along with Sanhiem.

Joel Farabee added insurance to make the score 3-1 when Hutton mishandled the puck in the crease, executing the freebie.

The Flyers will host the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night for a chance to win 10 straight games!
