Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Lose to Toronto in an Ugly Shootout!
The Philadelphia Flyers lose to the Toronto Maple Leafs in an ugly shootout. Big picture, the flyers took three of four points in a back to back scenario which is not bad. I believe they should have came out with the victory in this one though. Alain Vigneault mixed up the lines and put Joel Farabee on the top line with JVR and Claude Giroux. The third line consisted of Michael Raffl, Kevin Hayes, and Jake Voracek, while the second line stayed the same with Oskar Lindblom, Sean Couturier, and Travis Konecny. Both teams scored one goal in every period which led to an exciting over time. The Flyers had a 4 on 3 powerplay and was not able to score at all, followed by a two on one, and a breakaway by Konecny in the final seconds. In the shootout, it went a total of 11 rounds and there were some hideous attempts.Brian Elliott did all he could.
