The Philadelphia Flyers return home after their 1-4-1 road trip and beat the best team in the NHL, the Washington Capitals. What a remarkable performance by the squad to bounce back. Travis Konecny lit the lamp early and scored on Braden Holtby to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead. The Caps respond with two goals of their own before Robert Hagg threw a puck on net from the blue line with under a minute left in the first period to tie the game. In the second period, Kevin Hayes scored a beautiful shorthanded goal to seal the deal. From there, the Flyers held on. I will say, they took way too many penalties as they had to kill off a total of five. With that being said, their penalty kill did a great job keeping guys like Alex Ovechkin, TJ Oshie, and John Carlson off the score sheet. Carter Hart let up one he would probably want back, but all around he did just fine.
