Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Roll Through the Panthers in Carter Hart’s Return
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers by a score of 4-1. Carter Hart returned from injury and made 30 saves. After allowing a goal three minutes into the game, he was back to his old self! Ivan Provorov tied the game before the first period ended with a blistering shot. James Van Riemsdyk finished a nice play by Jakub Voracek on a 2-on-1 to take the lead and Travis Sanhiem buried the biscuit passed Sergei Bobrovsky with under a minute left in the second for insurance. Sanhiem has had a ton of success against Bob so far in his young career. Claude Giroux scored an empty netter to put the icing on the cake with barely any time left in the game. The Flyers powerplay was scoreless in five opportunities, but their penalty kill was 100%. That might be their achilles heel when it comes to a legit run if they make the playoffs. This was a much needed victory as the Flyers take possession of the second wild card spot. They have a second half of a back to back on Tuesday against the New York Islanders.
