The Philadelphia Flyers lose to the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 1-0. This is the Lightning's tenth straight win and a it's a very rare loss for the Flyers at home. They didn't play bad by any means, but when the standings continue to get tighter, every point matters. It's impressive for the Flyers to hold Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, and their other great playmakers off the score sheet, but when Andrei Vasilevskiy shuts the door on the other end, it's impossible to win. The Flyers did a good job on the penalty kill for a second straight game, Carter Hart did his job, and the effort was there. Results are very important at this moment based off the standings so it's hard to be satisfied with just effort. At times, I think it was noticeable the difference in skill level and speed, but that's no knock on the Flyers, it's more about praising what the Lightning are.
