Sports Talk with Brodes: Rays Win Game 2 as Snell Records 9 Ks, Lowe 2 HRs
The Rays take Game 2 of the World Series by a score of 6-4. Blake Snell struck out nine batters and Brandon Lowe hit two opposite-field home-runs! The second home-run being on an 0-2 count with two outs in the fifth inning off Dustin May.
Snell ran into some trouble in the bottom half of the fifth inning after getting out Cody Bellinger and AJ Pollock. Kike Hernandez walked and Chris Taylor took Snell deep to cut into the lead. Mookie Betts walked and Corey Seagor singled. Kevin Cash made the decision at that moment it was time to pull his starter.
Nick Anderson, Peter Fairbanks, Aaron Loup, and Diego Castillo had a job to do out of the bullpen. Nothing new for this Rays squad.
Loup struck out Bellinger looking to end the eighth inning in a two-run game with Justin Turner on third. Very impressive. The Rays needed this one, no doubt about it. With Tony Gonsolin on the mound for the Dodgers, this was a game to take!
