Sports Talk with Brodes: Scott Laughton Scores OT Winner
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in overtime in their exhibition game. Scott Laughton scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway after a filthy dish from Travis Konecny.
Carter Hart played the first two periods and I thought he was solid. He did allow one goal from Conor Sheary on an odd-man rush that he probably would like back, but it's okay considering they haven't played a game in four months. It didn't help that Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel were on the ice as well.
Brian Elliott played the third period and he was stellar for his role. The Penguins made a push and he held in there as long as he could before Jason Zucker tied the game late.
Sean Couturier and Kevin Hayes scored during regulation for the Flyers. Hayes was magnificent throughout every phase of the game!
