Phillies Ahead of Braves?

Mike and open up today's show talking about the tweets that Jon Morosi, FOX Sports, sent out proclaiming that the Phillies will finish ahead of the Braves in the NL East. Both Mike and Todd agree with his statements with Todd thinking that the Phillies will win the division over both the Nationals and Braves. Mike Gill though gives the Phillies a better shot at winning the World Series than winning the division believing that they will contend for both wildcard spots.

Jon Morosi

The reporter who wrote the article Mike and Todd were talking about today called in to discuss his opinions. Morosi was in Clearwater yesterday and just noticed a 'different vibe' with the team than last season especially with Chase Utley being in a spring training lineup. On the Braves, Morosi said that they really lost some valuable contributors last season with Chipper Jones retiring and Martin Prado in the Justin Upton trade. Morosi liked the Upton trade, but believes that there will be a feeling out period. Follow Morosi on Twitter.

Tim Kurkjian

Called in LIVE from Clearwater today where he was visiting the Phillies on his Spring Training tour. Kurkjian said he talked with both Chase Utley and Ryan Howard today both players saying that they feel much better than last Spring Training, like night and day. On Domonic Brown: "We've been talking about him for five years and the production doesn't follow. This is his real chance right now."
