While police continue to do water rescues, their main concern right now is gas leaks that have started fires in Mantoloking.

Firefighters are unable to reach those homes because roads remain impassable, and there is still concern that people may be trapped or injured.

Seaside Heights meanwhile is a total loss.  Both piers have collapsed, the boardwalk is destroyed and homes and cars are scattering in the streets.

In some areas, there is still three feet of water.

Officials say it may be days before residents are allowed back over the bridge to check on their homes because at this time it's just too unsafe.
