Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the legendary sports icons of the 20th century who won a gold medal in boxing at the 1976 Olympics. He was the first boxer to win world titles in five weight classes.

He went 36-3-1 in a professional career that ran from 1977-97. His last fight was at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, a TKO loss to Hector Camacho on March 1, 1997.

Next week's fundraising event (Thursday August 17th, 7-10pm) is named after the late Jackie and Hank Herskowitz, of Margate, whose philanthropy helped many people.

Katz JCC plans to use the money from this fundraiser for its scholarship fund, and to provide programs and services for children and seniors in Atlantic County.

Ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities are available and include a VIP Meet and Greet with Sugar Ray Leonard during the reception.
