The Holy Spirit Spartans (12-4) are one of the top teams in the Cape Atlantic League and they showed why when they hosted the Mainland Mustangs (8-8) in an American Conference game in Absecon on Tuesday night.

A big congratulations to St. Joe's Dana DiRenzo, who grabbed nearly 90% of the vote last week to take home 97.3 ESPN's High School Athlete of the Week honors. This week, we have a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective courts. Each are now in the running to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week.

It's still early in the 2015 high school basketball season, but we are already seeing some of the tops hoops in the country right here in our backyard.

Middle Twp has always been one of the top programs in the Cape Atlantic League, but coming off a disappointing 12-14 season Middle Township didn't have a lot of buzz entering this season. After the Panthers 55-31 win in Hammonton over St. Joe's it looks like the Cape might have to starting talking about them.
