Middle Twp has always been one of the top programs in the Cape Atlantic League, but coming off a disappointing 12-14 season Middle Township didn't have a lot of buzz entering this season.

After the Panthers 55-31 win in Hammonton over St. Joe's it looks like the Cape might have to starting talking about them.

Middle is off to a fast start behind the Greer bothers, senior Trai Greer and freshman Corey Greer - sons of former Middle star LaMarr Greer.

Tonight is was the elder Greer leading the way for the Panthers leading the way with 19 points, Corey finished the game with nine points.  Tim Toney added 10 for the Panthers who improved to 6-1 on the season.

Middle was tied with St. Joe 11-11 after one quarter but really turned up the defensive intensity, hold the Wildcats to just six second quarter points, heading into the locker room with a 24-17 lead at halftime. Trai Greer and Toney scored all 13 points for Middle.

St. Joe, considered by many to be a team on the rise, led by first year head coach Paul Rodio, Jr., 23, who is the son of longtime St. Augustine head coach Paul Rodio. St. Joe's top scorer, B.J. Mitchell, is one of the CAL's premiere players had 13 points in the game for the Wildcats.
