Sports Talk with Brodes: Scott Laughton Scores OT Winner
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in overtime in their exhibition game. Scott Laughton scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway after a filthy dish from Travis Konecny. Carter Hart played the first two periods and I thought he was solid. He did allow one goal from Conor Sheary on an odd-man rush that he probably would like back, but it's okay considering they haven't played a game in four months. It didn't help that Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel were on the ice as well. Brian Elliott played the third period and he was stellar for his role. The Penguins made a push and he held in there as long as he could before Jason Zucker tied the game late. Sean Couturier and Kevin Hayes scored during regulation for the Flyers. Hayes was magnificent throughout every phase of the game!

NHL's Return to Play Plan is Great, MLB Owners... Not so much!
Gary Bettman spoke to the media about the NHL's Return to Play Plan and I am very impressed with their idea. It's not the most perfect concept in the world as it is a little gimmicky at times, but ultimately, I think it will work! It actually gives an advantage to the Philadelphia Flyers so hey, why complain? I also compare the NHL's idea to the disgusting proposal by the MLB owners. STOP BEATING AROUND THE BUSH!!!

By now, everyone knows of the viral videos of Kevin Hayes and his nicknames for teammates or mic'd up moments on the ice this season. During the NHL's current suspension of play, Hayes is letting that personality shine off the ice, and fans have Chuck Fletcher to thank for it shining through.

Justice Was Served For the Flyers, Tuukka Rask Steals a Win
The Philadelphia Flyers snap their nine game win-streak as they get shutout by the Boston Bruins. Tuukka Rask was on another planet making remarkable saves all night long. He stopped all 36 shots. The Flyers dominated the first two periods. Travis Konecny got robbed backdoor after Jakub Voracek sent a filthy saucer-pass right on his stick. Kevin Hayes and Scott Laughton had three 2-on-1 opportunities while shorthanded and did not execute. The three players for Boston that needed to be accounted for every second they're on the ice, produced a point. David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand all found the stat sheet. Special teams played a big part of the outcome. The Flyers had three power plays and wasn't able to connect while Matt Grzelcyk scored on the Bruins' man-advantage to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the second period. Once the Bruins had the lead, the third period was dominant in terms of style of play. They played comfortable, simple, took chances when possible, but knew how to kill the clock with the lead. Bergeron entered the zone and ripped it past Carter Hart to essentially put the game away. Hart was okay. He definitely wasn't bad, but it wasn't his best game either. It's hard to look good when Rask is in the other crease flashing the leather. Shayne Gostisbehere was in the lineup since Philippe Myers fractured his patella and will miss four weeks. Ghost played a very strong game considering he missed a significant amount of time with injury and being a healthy scratch. Flyers will look to bounce back on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
