It's been a long journey to the top for one South Jersey native. From the local blacktop of Wildwood Crest to the hardwood of the NBA, Frank Vogel has done it the hard way.

The current head coach of the Indiana Pacers joined us on the South Jersey Sports Report to talk about his early days breaking into the game, and how basketball icons like Rick Pitino and Larry Bird influenced his career.

We also asked him what it's like to game-plan for one of the planet's greatest players in LeBron James, if he thinks the Miami series will make his team better, and just what goes into a typical offseason for an NBA head coach.

Bruce Davenport graduated from Egg Harbor Township in 2003, but not before using South Jersey's unique landscape features to his athletic advantage. Find out how he's continuing to expand the sports scene in our area with a basketball league that's bringing together players of all ages.

Cape May County Gazette Sports Editor Brian Cunniff checks in with us to talk about a Philadelphia Eagle's local appearance, an Atlantic County surfer on the rise, and why some of the best athletes on the water will be descending on South Jersey's beaches this summer.

And where in the world is Kevin Marriner? The Middle Township graduate is currently on a cross-country bike tour that's also giving back to the community. Find out how he trains for a 75-mile day, and how he's changing lives for the less fortunate on the road.
