Three Phillies Prospects Named to Eastern League All-Star Game
While Phillies fans are fixated on some of the Phillies prospects at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, there are still more Phillies prospects at lower levels. Double-A Reading just lost second baseman Scott Kingery and outfielder Andrew Pullin to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but three more prospects have been named to the Eastern League All-Star Game. According to the Reading Eagle's Mike Drago, the Phillies will send outfielders Carlos Tocci, outfielder Jiandido Tromp, and pitcher Drew Anderson to represent the Reading Fightin' Phils at the event.
Tocci plays center field for the Fightin' Phils. The 21 year-old Tocci is currently batting an even .300 with nine doubles and six triples. Tocci has yet to hit a home run for the Fightin' Phils this season.
Tromp is the left fielder for the Fightin' Phils. Tromp is 23 years old and hails from Aruba. Tromp played a few games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley but has spent most of 2017 in Reading. Tromp is batting .283 at the Double-A level, with nine home runs, 19 doubles, and an OPS of .837 for the Fightin' Phils.
Anderson is a member of the Phillies 40-man roster and had a quick look in Phillies Spring Training camp. Through 15 starts, Anderson is 5-3 with a 3.68 earned run average. Anderson is also 23 years old and has steadily moved from level to level in the Phillies system.
The Eastern League All-Star game is scheduled to take place on July 12 in Manchester, New Hampshire, home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays
