
Four-Alarm Fire in Vineland Sends Smoke Across Cumberland County
Crews responded to a four-alarm rubbish fire that broke out Saturday night at Giordano's Recycling on 110 North Mill Road at around 8 p.m., putting the Cumberland County town along with parts of Gloucester County under an air quality alert.

Giordano’s Recycling: Scene of the Blaze
Flames were seen as a result of a large rubbish fire and eventually extinguished at about 7 a.m. at Giordano's Recycling building, causing multiple roads to close, including Mill Road from Almond to Landis Avenue.
Crews from Cumberland County, Salem County, and the Gloucester County hazmat crew were on site to help extinguish the blaze throughout the night.

Landis Avenue has been reopened. The fire was deemed under control earlier today. Our officers cleared around 3:30 Am, spending more than 7 hours on scene. Public works came with barrels to block the road. We want to thank our friends from Salem County Fire Police for assisting us. Having so many volunteers out for this amount of time is true dedication. All departments did amazing work on this truly massive scene. County dispatchers also need to be commended, making sense out of the mess of radio traffic. Now for everyone to get some rest!
Air Quality Concerns and Public Safety Tips
Cumberland County officials have asked residents to stay indoors and keep their windows shut.
No injuries were reported at the site, and at this time, the air quality in Vineland was deemed moderate.
