Each week, 973 ESPN South Jersey and Prime Events are bringing you the chance to vote for the High School Athlete of the Week. We want to recognize some of the great Student-Athletes from around the Cape Atlantic League with five nominees.  We announce the winner on-air each week at 650pm on GameNight with Josh Hennig.  The week of November 3rd nominees were:

*NASIR HILL, Saint Augustine Prep, Senior: Caught Two Touchdown passes and had a Pick-Six in the Hermits' 35-21 win over Holy Spirit to earn his team a bye in the NJSIAA playoffs

*SEAN MAZZITELLI, Ocean City, Senior: Scored Two Touchdowns and made big defensive plays in OC's 31-14 win over Williamstown as the Raiders finished with their first unbeaten regular season in 25 years

*SOFIA DAY, Mainland Regional, Freshman: Won the Cape Atlantic League Cross Country Meet by more than a minute a week after winning the Atlantic County Meet

*ANDREW RYKER, Hammonton, Senior: Ran for 146 yards and Two Touchdowns plus made key plays on defense in the Devils' 43-0 win over Triton that qualified them for the NJSIAA Playoffs

*SUMMER REIMET, Ocean City, Senior: Scored twice, including the game-winning goal, in a 3-2 win over Bishop Eustace to make Raiders the first CAL team to ever win the South Jersey Girls Soccer Invitational. She leads state scoring by more than 11 with 56 goals this season and has been selected to play in the All-American Girls Soccer Game in Tennessee next month

Check Out Greater Atlantic City, NJ Area Athletes Who Played Games In NFL

Many people are not aware of the number of athletes from the Greater Atlantic City Region who have played in the National Football League. Football players who played at high schools in Cape May, Atlantic, Cumberland, and Ocean Counties have a strong representation in the NFL over the last few decades.

One of the most difficult accomplishments in sports is to make a Professional Sports Roster and earn the opportunity to play in a game at the highest level of the sport. Check out some of the great South Jersey Athletes who have played in games in the NFL:
