Vote for This Week’s High School Athlete of the Week
Congrats to Atlantic City swimmer Amber Glen for taking last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week Award.
We have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy.
You can vote for your pick, and hear the winner announced on the South Jersey Sports Report with Tyler Donohue Saturday morning beginning at 9:00.
Francis Christian, Basketball, Wildwood - Approached a triple-double while leading the Warriors past Penns Grove 71-69. Christian tallied 28 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and five steals. He also hit four three-pointers.
Kofi Yamoah, Indoor Track, Egg Harbor Township - The shot put extraordinaire broke his own meet record at the South Jersey Group IV championships. Yamoah topped the mark he set last winter and his efforts helped lead EHT to a sectional title.
Lauryn Fields, Basketball, Middle Township - The junior guard joined South Jersey's 1,000-point club in style during a win over Hammonton. Fields hit a shot from near halfcourt as time expired in the second quarter to reach the milestone.
Jordan Robertson, Basketball, Wildwood Catholic - The junior drilled a fade-away three-pointer as time expired to beat Cheroke in the Olympic-Cape Challenge, held last weekend at St. Augustine Prep.
Sydney Boswell, Swimming, Mainland - The senior standout led Mainland to a South Jersey Public B swimming championship with a pair of individual victories against defending champion Haddonfield. Boswell topped all competitors in the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter backstroke.
