Its official, the Eagles will be facing Garret Gilbert on Tuesday night when they host the Washington Football Team.

Both starter Taylor Heinicke and backup Kyle Allen failed to clear the COVID protocols and will not make the trip to Philadelphia, meaning Gilbert gets the start.

Gilbert was with Dallas last season, will make his second career start after being signed by Washington just three days ago. He completed 21-of-38 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his only other start in Week 9 last season in a game against Pittsburgh.

Gilbert was with Dallas in the preseason, completing 56 percent of his passes with just one touchdown in 50 attempts.

Now he will start for Washington in a very important game on Tuesday night, Kyle Shurmur has been activated from the practice squad and will serve as the teams backup quarterback.
