Some shifting along the offensive line is ahead for the Philadelphia Eagles.

As announced on Wednesday, right tackle D.J. Lane Johnson will not play against the Carolina Panthers tonight at Bank of America Stadium, after suffering a concussion last week against the Cardinals.

As expected Johnson is inactive, which means the Eagles will use Halapoulivaati Vaitai on the right side. Regardless of how they line up, the Eagles will be featuring a line that was just 2-8 last season with Johnson out of the lineup.

Some good news for the Eagles, defensive tackles Fletcher Cox and Beau Allen are both available, that leaves Elijah Qualls as the odd man odd.  There was some thought that Cox and Allen would miss the game, with both being game-time decisions, giving the Eagles defense a nice boost vs the Panthers.

However, for the second stright game, the Eagels will be without Wendell Smallwood.  Small didn't practice all week, so him sitting out doesn't come as much of a surprise.  LeGarrette Blount, rookie Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner will share the backfield.

For the Panthers, C Ryan Kalil, QB Brad Kaaya, S Kurt Coleman, S Demetrious Cox, S Dezmen Southward, OT John Theus and DE Bryan Cox Jr are the team’s listed inactives.
