One of the big mysteries coming out of the Philadelphia Eagles victory in Los Angles on two weeks ago is what is going on with running back Wendell Smallwood. The second-year back missed last week's win over the Cardinals, and sat out practice today as the Eagles prepare for Thursday night's game with the Panthers.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was coy last week when about the specifics of the injury.

"It happened during the game," was all Pederson would really divulge last week

Pederson gave very little information about Smallwood on Wednesday before the Eagles leave for Carolina, as the team listed him as questionable in Wednesday’s injury report.

"Questionable again," Pederson announced. "Same thing, game-time [decision]."

But for now, it looks like Smallwood might again miss the game on Thursday night, leaving LeGarrette Blount, rookie Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner as a three-headed committee.

Smallwood has 29 carries, 113 yards and a touchdown, along with seven catches for 55 yards this season.
