The 2025 edition of WWE's biggest summer event is coming to New Jersey on Saturday, August 2nd, a state with plenty of Professional Wrestling History.

WWE's SummerSlam has been an annual event on the Sports Entertainment calendar with some of the biggest names in Pro Wrestling performing each year at different locations around the United States.

The 2025 Edition of WWE SummerSlam will be the fourth time the event will be hosted in New Jersey. Overall, there have been 14 WWF/WWE PPV events hosted in New Jersey over the years.

From Atlantic City to the Giants Stadium in East Rutherford to Newark, New Jersey has seen plenty of great Sports Entertainment events over the last 40 years.

New Jersey's History with Professional Wrestling

The Garden State has been the home of several Independent Wrestling Organizations, including Jersey All Pro Wrestling (1997-2018), and Game Changer Wrestling (founded in 1999.

Since 1983, The Monster Factory has been training athletes to join the ranks of Pro Wrestling. Today, the school is considered one of the best in the United States and is located in Paulsboro, New Jersey.

Also, DeFranco's Training Systems is a well-known Wrestling Training Gym located in Wyckoff, New Jersey.

There are four WWE Hall of Famers from New Jersey, along with over 12 World Champions whose roots are from The Garden State. The combination of Pro Wrestling Gyms and NJ's rich history for producing high-level High School Wrestlers has created a unique environment to produce so many gifted Sports Entertainment performers.
