A pair of Cape Atlantic League pitchers have been selected in the major league draft today.

Brett Kennedy of Brigantine is an Atlantic City alum and the first South Jersey product selected today in 11th round, 327th overall, by Padres - he is currently a junior at Fordham where he's 6-8 with a 4.14 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 87 innings.

Cody Stashak of Mays Landing, who pitched at Oakcrest, had a stop at Cumberland County Community College was drafted by the Twins in the 13th round, he's now at St. John's where in 16 starts, he went 7-4 with a 3.57 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 85 2/3 innings pitched.

Both pitchers had outstanding CAL careers and success at the college level.  They will both try to continue their baseball careers as professionals.
