The 2017-2018 NBA All-Defensive team was announced on Wednesday afternoon, and Robert Covington made the list of the top-five defenders in the league, while center Joel Embiid was listed as a second-team NBA All-Defensive team member.

Covington led the NBA in deflections with 312, Paul George was next with 306 total deflections. The 26-year old forward also finished second on the team and ninth in the league with an average of 1.7 steals per game. The forward has posted no fewer than 105 steals in any of his last three seasons and is one of nine players in the league to do so.

The accomplishment cements Covington has one of the top defenders in the league.

Embiid finished the regular season fourth in the NBA in blocks (1.8) and seventh in rebounds per game (11.0). Embiid, joined Anthony Davis and Rudy Gobert as the three finalists for the 2017-18 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award
