Phillies manager Joe Girardi announced today that ace right-hander Aaron Nola will be the teams' Opening Day starter against the Marlins on Friday

It will be Nola's third straight Opening Day assignment.

“I feel like I’m ready,” Nola told Phillies.com on Saturday after facing the Washington Nationals.

Nola status as the teams Opening Day starter had a little doubt, after he was forced to show up late to Phillies summer camp after he was exposed to someone with COVID-19.

The 27 year-old is coming off a solid 2019 campaign going 12-7 with a 3.87 ERA in 34 starts.  In 2018 he finished third in the N.L. Cy Young Award voting going 17-6 with a outstanding 2.37 ERA in 33 starts.
