Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been fined $2.5 million and suspended for life from having "any association with the Clippers organization, or the NBA."

"I am banning Donald Sterling for Life from the Clippers organization," NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Tuesday.

The decision means that Sterling will never again participate in league activities and it sets the stage for the NBA to take away control of the Clippers' franchise.
