The Philadelphia 76ers have played surprisingly well recently without their three best players, winning five of their last seven games without Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George.

Role players such as Justin Edwards (17.2 Points per game in the last six games), Adem Bona (1.8 Blocks per game in the last five games), and Trendon Watford (10.2 PPG in 20 minutes per game in the last five games) have stepped up.

Heading into NBA action on Monday, the Sixers are neck-and-neck with the Atlanta Hawks in the battle for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Philadelphia is also just a half game behind the Toronto Raptors who are in the fifth spot.

Good News For The 76ers This Week

Starting March 25th, Philadelphia will welcome back one of their star players for the final ten games of the regular season.

The 25-game suspension for Paul George is coming to an end this week, and he is eligible to return this Wednesday Night. Unlike Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, PG is not recovering from an injury, and has been actively working out in recent weeks. George was seen doing full-speed drills at Monday's Practice.

Originally suspended by the NBA for 25 games without pay because he violated the league's anti-drug policy, Paul George has not played in a game for the Sixers since January 29th. In his last 12 games he played in January before the suspension, George was averaging 15.8 Points per game, along with 4.2 Assists per game, and 1.7 Steals per game.

While Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss the rest of March, there is speculation that Joel Embiid could return to the court on Saturday, March 28th. The 76ers are hoping to having their three best players back in action together for the final regular season games in April.
