LeBron James Free Agency: Philly Stars Make Pitch

As the NBA offseason begins to slow down, one big name is still on the market.

LeBron James.

James, considered by many to be the best player to ever play in the NBA, is a free agent. At least five teams are reported to be in the running to add James, with his hometown Cavaliers the favorite to land him.

Also in the mix are one of his former teams, the Miami Heat, along with the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

And then there is the Sixers.

Once Philadelphia made the move to acquire Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics, it was reported that the Sixers made a call to James' agent, Rich Paul, to make their pitch for his services.

Once the Sixers made their call, some famous sports figures in the city also began to make their pitch, like Eagles running back Saquan Barkley.

"I think it's one of the greatest sports towns in the world, Barkley stated. If you want to go out with a bang, I feel a great spot would be in Philly and bring a championship to Philadelphia; you would be remembered forever."

Before Monday's Major League All-Star game, Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper made his pitch to bring James to Philadelphia. "Jaylen Brown," Harper said.

They have four guys that are really good. They have a great fan base. I think he's going to go back to the Cavs, but I'm not really sure what that would be like for him."

One other player that is connected to the city, Mike Trout, is in Philadelphia for the MLB All-Star Game and was asked to make his pitch to James to come to Philadelphia.

"I think he would have the best opportunity to win," Trout pitched. And if he wants to play golf, I've got a nice little golf course down south."
