The Kansas City Royals advanced to their second consecutive World Series on Friday night.

It was a wild Game 6 last night, filled with four total home runs and a lengthy 60 minute rain delay.

Things were tied heading into the rain delay, but the Royals took the lead in the 8th inning when Lorenzo Cain scored from first base on a base hit by Eric Hosmer.

The Blue Jays were able to get the tying run on third base beginning with no outs, but closer Wade Davis shut the door in the 9th inning to clinch the American League Pennant.

Royals short stop and defensive star Alcides Escobar was unanimously selected as ALCS MVP setting a record as a lead off hitter. Escobar went 11 for 23 in the series.

Royals started Game 6 with Yordano Ventura who held the Blue Jays to just one run in 5.1 innings pitched. After the game, Ventura was having a blast with teammates and media members in the clubhouse. In the middle of an interview, Ventura nonchalantly opened up his victory soda with his teeth.

The Royals will host the New York Mets in Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.
