Andrew Painter Makes Highly Anticipated MLB Debut Tonight vs. Nationals
Phillies rookie pitcher Andrew Painter will make his much-anticipated major league debut on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals.
Scouting Andrew Painter: From Recovery to the Rotation
Painter, the team's top pitching prospect, was the 13th overall pick in the 2021 MLB draft, but Tommy John surgery during spring training in 2023 forced him to miss the entire 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Last year, he went 5-8 with a 5.26 ERA during two minor league stops.
Painter had a 2.31 ERA and a sparkling 0.77 WHIP during Spring Training, striking out eight in 11.2 innings pitched.
