Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson announced on Friday that top pitching prospect Andrew Painter’s next start will be on Thursday for the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Andrew Painter’s Rehab Stats at Low-A

Painter recently completed a rehab stint at Low-A Clearwater, where he threw 11.1 innings with 12 strikeouts and just one walk with a 3.97 ERA and 0.971 WHIP in four starts for Clearwater.

The 22-year-old Phillies pitching prospect is widely regarded as not only the Phillies, but also the top pitching prospect in baseball, and is slated to arrive in Philadelphia sometime in mid-July and will now be paired up with former Phillies backup catcher, Garrett Stubbs, giving him a veteran to work with before he gets the call to Philadelphia.

His 11.1 innings at Low-A are his first professional innings since 2022, after he missed all of the 2024 following Tommy John surgery. There is a ton of anticipation for Painter's arrival because of his elite fastball, 12-to-6 curveball, slider, and change-up that he worked on at Spring Training.

Overall, the right-hander has some of the best stuff of any prospect in baseball.

Recap: Arizona Fall League Performance

He did throw in the Arizona Fall League in 2024, tossing 15.2 innings with a 2.30 ERA and 18 strikeouts in six starts.
