Prime Events was created in 1992 to promote the coverage of Cape-Atlantic League sports by purchasing time on radio stations and cable systems to broadcast games, primarily football and basketball. Since then, Prime Events has expanded to also include three sports-oriented websites full of statistics, schedules, rankings and records; a computer-based basketball statistics service that is used by many premier events, including the NJSIAA state championships; and the operation of basketball tournaments and showcases featuring high school basketball teams - there have been 54 held prior to the start of the 2014-15 school year. Prime Events has also established many trophies and awards that are presented annually within the CAL.
