The Philadelphia Phillies minor league system, is ranked right in the middle of the pack of top farm systems in baseball.

According to Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter’s updated farm system rankings after the trade deadline, the Phillies slot in at No. 15 on the list.

This puts them right smack in the middle of minor league systems in all of baseball.

Two big reasons for Philadelphia’s jump are recent editions, Alec Bohm and Spencer Howard, both who have recently made the leap to Double-A Reading.

Bohm is rated as a top 25 prospect, while Howard is regarded as a top 100 prospect.

Even after sending top prospect Sixto Sanchez to Miami in the J.T. Realmuto deal, the Phillies stayed in the middle of the pack.

Even after parting with No. 1 prospect Sixto Sanchez in the J.T. Realmuto trade during the offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies still have a solid farm system.

However, the progress of Bohm and Howard have been a big lift to the organization.

After a disappointing pro debut, Alec Bohm has quickly asserted himself as one of the game's most dangerous power prospects, hitting .304/.371/.513 with 25 doubles and 15 home runs while climbing two levels to Double-A. He's now a top-25 prospect and climbing.

In Sanchez's absence, right-hander Spencer Howard is the club's top pitching prospect. A second-round pick in 2017, the 6'3" right-hander has a polished four-pitch mix, and he's been dominant this season with a 1.80 ERA, .174 opponents batting average and 66 strikeouts against nine walks in 45 innings.

Reuter gave an updated list of the Phillies top 10 prospects based on which “tier” they fell in.

Tier one are prospects in the top 100 list, tier two are players who have a good chance of having an impact, and the third tier represents players who haven’t shown enough yet or could have little contributions at the big-league level.
