The Eagles record stands at 2-2 heading into NFL Week 5 and in their 2 losses the opponents scored over 25 points in each game.  Despite that, overall the Eagles Defense has been a solid unit in 2018 as they are only allowing 20.3 Points Per Game (9th Best in the NFL) and allowing 335.3 Total Yards Per Game (10th best in the NFL).  The real difference is how the defense performs as Lincoln Financial Field compared to their performance on the road.  Since 2016 under Doug Pederson, the Eagles are 15-3 at home and allowing 13.8 Points Per Game in those 18 games; on the flip side, the Eagles are 6-11 on the road while allowing 26.4 Points Per Game.

Press of Atlantic City Eagles Beat Writer Dave Weinberg joined The Sports Bash on Wednesday with his perspective on how Jim Schwartz is running the Defense:

"I hear people complaining about the defense all the time and about Jim Schwartz but I just have to give into him. He knows more about defense than you or I or anyone who is complaining so I have to trust him when he says he is going to figure out a way to get the defense back on track. I don’t know the (exact) reason for the struggles, but if he thinks that Jalen Mills is certainly capable of playing I gotta believe him. If he thinks that Corey Graham could fill the role that Rodney McLeod had then I have to take his word for it.”
