Charles Barkley Says Daughter Named After Christiana Mall
Everyone seems to get creative when it comes to finding a name for their child.
For example, during the late 2000's many families in the Delaware Valley named their son Chase, after Phillies second baseman, Chase Utley.
Gone are the days of simply coming up with an easy to spell four letter name like Mike, Mark, Matt, Bill, Rich, Rick, Stan, or Dave. Three letter names have gone by the wayside as well, like, Joe, Bob, Jim, Tom, Max, Sam, or Dan.
On the girls side, there was always Jen, Stephanie, Ashley, Amanda, Sara, Jessica, Lauren, Heather, and Rachel.
You get the picture.
Well former Sixers' all-star and current TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley came up with a unique way to name his daughter, Christiana Barkley.
He named her after the Christiana Mall in Delaware, a super-regional shopping mall located between Newark and Wilmington, Delaware.
"She's named after a mall," Barkley told Ernie Johnson. "I used to go by the mall in Delaware , that's how she got her name."
When Johnson asked him why he would name his daughter after the mall, Barkley said: "I don't know, I just like the mall."
How did you come up with the name for you son or daughter?
