Heading into the Eagles matchup with the Cowboys in Week 11, they are expected to be getting a boost on the defensive side of the ball with the return of Cornerback Ronald Darby.  Even without Darby the Eagles Defense is still tied for third in Interceptions in the NFL this season (11) along with being number one in Passes Deflected (67).  But this Defense which is tied for Ninth Fewest Points Against (179) should give major credit to one of the best Defensive Lines in the league led by Fletcher Cox, Tim Jernigan, and Brandon Graham.

Turron Davenport of USA Today Eagles Wire joined The Sports Bash on Wednesday and talked about the importance of the Defensive Lineman to the Eagles this season:

“People don’t have to believe in that Secondary to be honest with you because it’s all about the guys up front.  Look at where the money on this defense is spent – the biggest contracts on defense: Vinny Curry, Fletcher Cox, Tim Jernigan, Brandon Graham is making a lot of money, they invested a First Round (Draft) Pick in Derek Barnett, that’s where it matters.  So the guys in the back (end) whether it be Ronald Darby, (Jalen) Mills, Jaylen Watkins, Patrick (Robinson), whoever it doesn’t matter it’s (all about) up front.  They dominate up front, they reestablish the Line of Scrimmage three yards behind the original one, that’s how (the Eagles) win.”
