Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has a non-displaced ankle fracture that will keep him out 6-8 weeks, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

By that timetable, the team’s explosive wide out would miss at least the next five-to-seven games with the bye coming next week. If he missed the full eight week time-frame, he could be ready to play in the teams final two games against Dallas and Washington.

Jackson, a 2019 free agent addition has been plagued by various injuries since returning to the team.  He missed most of last year with a core muscle injury, this season he missed games with a hamstring injury and now this ankle injury will keep him out for an extended period of time.

Without Jackson, the Eagles lack that game-breaking speed on the outside, at least until rookie Jalen Reagor returns.  Without both Jackson and Reagor, they will likely turn to fifth-round pick John Hightower, who does have some good speed and has proven he can get open.

The injury only adds to a series of questions about Jackson’s future, but according to Garafolo, Jackson is determined to come back and play next season, even it its not with the Eagles.

Another injury that occurred in the game on Thursday night was to defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway. Ridgeway, who has been a part of the tackle rotation, suffered a torn biceps in the game and is done for the season.

Its a tough loss for the team, especially with Malik Jackson out with an injury. Ridgeway has played in all seven games, and had one of his better games on Thursday night. In his place, T.Y. McGill is expected to take over his snaps moving forward.
