With the phillies hovering around .500 for most of this early season, there have been more questions than answers about this team. With Chase Utley and Carlos Ruiz currently on the disabled list and Ryan Howard struggling at the plate, the phils are in need of someone on this team to step up. Enter Dominic Brown.

Finally getting his chance to play everyday at the major league level, Dom Brown is making the most of his opportunity. After a bit of a slow start, Brown has begun to find his swing. Brown leads the team in home runs with 11 and RBI's with 30. He's been red hot as of late, hitting a home run in back to back games and was named national league player of the week earlier this month.

If the phils have any ideas of making a run to the playoffs this season, they will need to lean on Dom Brown moving forward. All of that potential that has been talked about with him over the last few years could finally be realized in 2013. With an aging team who look to be offensively challenged most nights, the question is, will Brown be able to handle the weight that will be put squarely on his shoulders? Only time will tell, but he's off to a very good start.
