I can’t win for losing. Or lose for winning. Or whatever it is that keeps me coming up short on my Eagles predictions this season.

Three stars

1. Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (9 receptions for 146 yards and a TD).
2. Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (8 receptions for 110 yards and a TD).
3. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (23-for-36 for 354 yards with two TDs and an interception).

Eagles’ best play

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith made a terrific catch against tight coverage along the sideline for a 41-yard gain that set up the Eagles’ third touchdown in the second quarter.

Eagles’ worst play

Punt returner Xavier Gipson foolishly tried to field a punt at his own 2-yard line. He managed to get to the 12 before getting hit by Bridgeton’s Markqueses Bell and Alijah Clark. Clark forced a fumble and Dallas’ Trent Sieg recovered it.

Turning point

With less than a minute left in regulation, Prescott found Pickens for a 24-yard gain to the Eagles’ 22-yard line that set up Brandon Aubrey’s game-winning, 42-yard field goal.

Did you notice?

There was a large contingent of Eagles fans in Dallas, including a big group hosted by Atlantic City Mayor and avid Eagles fan Marty Small.… According to NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Eagles blew a 21-point lead for just the fourth time in franchise history. … Eagles running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 22 yards on 10 carries and also lost a crucial fumble in the fourth quarter. … Quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for two TDs and ran for one.… Safety Reed Blankenship had an interception before suffering a hamstring injury in the second half.… The Cowboys have now won 19 straight home games against NFC East opponents.… Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had four catches for 75 yards but also dropped at least three passes, including one in the end zone.
