PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - The Eagles are expected to sign rookie running back Boston Scott off the New Orleans Saints' practice squad as a replacement for the injured Corey Clement.

A sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech, Scott made the Saints' 53-man roster at the beginning of the season when Mark Ingram was suspended, serving as the third back behind star Alvin Kamara and Mike Gillislee.

Ultimately Scott was waived and added to the practice squad. At 5-foot-7 and 203 pounds Scott has a bit of a Darren Sproles look to him and is regarded as a good pass catcher out of the backfield and potential kick returner.

Clement injured his knee against the Dallas Cowboys and although Doug Pederson said the Eagles are still waiting on MRI results, the belief is he will be shut down for the season.

Scott with join a backfield populated by Josh Adams, Sproles and Wendell Smallwood, and vaults over Donnel Pumphrey, who is on the practice squad.
