Don't expect to see Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts or any of the other starters tonight when they face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in the team’s preseason finale.

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Eagles will be resting most, if not all of their starters for tonight's game, with the feeling that they got to see enough of them during the teams two joint practices against the Jets this week.

Hurts preseason ends after he went 3-for-7 for 54 yards in his only performance in the teams preseason opener against the Steelers.

The second-year quarterback did not play in the second preseason opener against the New England Patriots after feeling pain in his abdomen prior to the game.

Also doubtful to play is rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith.  The first-round pick did appear briefly in the game last week against the Patriots, making two catches on four targets for 19 yards in his preseason debut.

Sirianni will give its significant contributors time off before the team takes next weekend off and then opens the regular season Sept. 12 at the Atlanta Falcons.

On Thursday's edition of the Sports Bash, I asked Eagles safety Anthony Harris about not playing in the preseason games, but getting more reps in the joint practices.

"You get to do some things in practice that you might not get to do in the preseason  games," Harris told me. "Having two joint-practices this year has been great."

"At the end of the day its about building that chemistry."

You can listen to the Eagles and Jets tonight with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 on 97.3 ESPN. Merrill Reese and Mike Quick call all the action starting at 7:30.
