Free agent receiver Nelson Agholor, who spent his fisrt five NFL season with the Philadelphia Eagles, signed a deal on Saturday to join the Las Vegas Raiders.

Agholor, 26, was a first-round pick in 2015, Chip Kelly's last season with the Eagles, but has been a major disappointment.

In 71 career games with the Eagles, Agholor caught 224 balls for 2,515 yards and 18 touchdowns.

He missed the final five games of the 2019 season due to a December knee injury that seemed to indicate that his time in Philadelphia might be coming to a close.  He posted career lows in 2019 with just 39 catches and 363 yards, watching Greg Ward produce nearly similar production in just seven games.

Agholor also has issues with confidence and drops throughout his career in Philadelphia, but was a big part of the Eagles 2017 team that won the Super Bowl.

That year Agholor posted 62 catches, 768 yards and eight touchdowns, and during that three game playoff run, he hauled in 15 passes for 167 yards, playing primarily in the slot, a position that seemed better suited for his speed and skill-set. It was when the Eagles moved him out of the slot that Agholor seemed to struggle, having issues tracking the deep ball.

As John McMullen points out, a change of scenery might be just what Agholor needs.

His time in Philadelphia might be remembered by a drop he had during this past season, in which a local man on the news suggested that he was catching a baby being thrown out of a burning building, unlike Agholor, who had a key drop during an Eagles loss to the Detroit Lions.
